The bill that aims to give towns and regions greater say over where renewable energy projects are built passed the House uneventfully Wednesday afternoon. It had been given preliminary approval Tuesday.
Senators and representatives are likely to seek to reconcile differences between their versions of the bill in the coming days, said Sen. Chris Bray, D-Addison, who initially drew it up.
House members passed the bill unanimously in a voice vote, after a unanimous roll call vote the day before.
The bill, S.230, would require the Public Service Board to give “substantial deference” to approved energy siting plans drawn up by towns and regions.
