Two resource centers for Vermonters affected by flooding opened Saturday in Rutland and Waterbury, according to a press release from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Residents can apply for FEMA assistance and access other resources at the temporary facilities, which are run by federal and state officials. (They can also apply by calling FEMA at 800-621-3362 or visiting DisasterAssistance.gov.)
The Rutland center is located in the Asa Bloomer state office building on 88 Merchants Row. The Waterbury center is in the armory building at 294 Armory Drive. Both are open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
State and federal officials have hosted temporary resource centers throughout Vermont in the aftermath of storms that inflicted catastrophic damage on the state starting on July 10.
