How can the level of support services be so different from one school district to another?
Slate Valley, and specifically Castleton Elementary School, has multiple levels of support for all students — special education and regular classroom kids.
Yes, it’s hard to hire people who “get it” about emotional or trauma- based behaviors. It takes time and resources to bring in the professional trainers who can teach the difference between punishment and discipline, and between obedience and self-control.
I would wish for better for the kids of Bennington County.
