The Department of Health reported 10 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday, bringing the total cases confirmed in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,642.
One person in the state was reported to be in the hospital with a confirmed case of the virus, and one person reported is hospitalized with a suspected but not confirmed case. To date, 58 people have died with the illness. No new deaths were reported.
As of Friday, the state reported that 142,198 people had been tested for the illness in Vermont since mid-March, an increase of 1,317.
A Friday update on the Killington outbreak by the health department reported a total of 17 cases associated with the party on Aug. 19. Eleven of those attended the event, and six were subsequent transmissions. The health department noted it has made contact with 34 of the 49 guests, 15 of whom are residents of other states.
