A recent letter to Vermont Digger was about how teachers should handle noisy students. It said, in effect: send ‘em home.
Wrong.
They are rowdy since they haven’t learned self control from parentals. Send ‘em back to the parents who haven’t done a good job so they will learn even less?
Schools have taken over what parents haven’t done and haven’t been able to do it much better.
I don’t see any effort by the public to get parents to be better parents. Is this because it costs parents so much to live that parents are at jobs too much to help their kids?
Our civilization needs a BIG conversation about this. How much more for schools to spend on counselors for students, etc?
