A commentary that was published by VTDigger in favor of flavored vapes was written by a staff member of the โConsumer Choice Centerโ which, according to its web site, gets funding from the nicotine industry. Nicotine is orders of magnitude more addictive than cannabis, generates huge amounts of illness, death, disability and gargantuan health care costs.
Flavored tobacco products, such as the author promotes (and his funders sell), are instrumental in introducing young people to a deadly product with life-altering repercussions. His argument is that because we allow cannabis, we should allow big corporations to poison our children with even more toxic products. Restrictions on flavored tobacco products are important to protect the health of our citizens and of our economy. The legislature should enact S.18.
