Police said they are looking for two Massachusetts men missing under “suspicious circumstances” who were last known to be traveling together in northern Vermont.
Jahim Solomon, 21, of Pittsfield, and Eric White, 21, of Chicopee, were reported by their families to have been traveling together in the areas around Burlington, Lowell, Morrisville and Stowe, according to a press release issued Saturday by the Vermont State Police.
In Oct. 15 reports to the Stowe Police Department and the state police, the families said they had been unable to reach the men, who had not been in touch with their relatives for several days.
Police have “concerns for the welfare of Solomon and White,” the release said.
State police spokesperson Adam Silverman declined to comment further on the nature of the disappearances. He indicated that police had not been able to find the men after attempting to conduct welfare checks but had “developed information that indicated the disappearances had occurred under suspicious circumstances.”
“To avoid compromising the investigation, we will not be characterizing the circumstances further at this time,” he said.
The Associated Press reported that on Saturday searchers spent time in an area around Albany and Lowell.
Solomon is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds. He has a muscular build, with blue/hazel eyes and brown hair and was last reported to be wearing a gray sweatshirt, sweatpants, and an orange camouflage baseball hat with the letters “DBF.”
White is described as 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
