I agree with this commentary concerning both the Moran and Municipal Auditorium buildings.
The shell at the Moran plant is neither aesthetically pleasing nor practical. Let’s close it in for a restaurant, retail or bar on the lower level and apartments above.
The Municipal Auditorium could be fashioned after the conversion of the former Champlain Elementary School on Pine Street that is now apartments. It works very well, maintains its original look, and served a much-needed purpose.
We need that kind of creative thinking again to repurpose for Burlington’s current needs. It’s not that difficult.
