The Affordable Heat Act is a nebulous web of promises that, to a retiree of modest means, looks like ruin coming down the pike.

The big problem with this sparse framework is putting meat on those bones, or figures to show what it’s going to cost each and every one of us to comply. In 2026, no less.

I propose we have the supporting legislators have their homes evaluated and estimates done up for all-electric conversion, including the resultant electric bill changes, and post those online along with their incomes and square footage of houses for comparison’s sake.

While we’re at it, the state’s offices should all be converted by 2026, whether owned or leased.

Let’s see some leadership on this expensive proposition from those who would impose their will upon the rest of us.
