The state Department of Health reported two new cases of Covid-19 Monday, bringing the total number of people diagnosed with the illness since the outbreak began in March to 983.
There were no new deaths, keeping the total number of people who have died from Covid-19 in Vermont at 55. There are 16 people hospitalized with suspected, but not confirmed, cases.
The state reported 1,356 new tests conducted, bringing the total to 35,326.
Gov. Phil Scott announced the formation of a Racial Equity Task Force to examine the disparities in Covid-19 infections and death rates, and other reviews of supports for racially diverse populations.
Health Commissioner Mark Levine encouraged those who are protesting to follow public health guidelines about masking and social distancing.
