A doctor at the University of Vermont Medical Center has been arrested and is being charged with voyeurism after police say he planted a concealed camera in a staff bathroom.

Eike Blohm MD

Eike Blohm, 37, an emergency medical physician at UVMMC was arrested by the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations Friday afternoon, CUSI said in a Friday evening press release.

UVMMC security found a โ€œKNOWYOURNANNYโ€ camera concealed in an โ€œinconspicuous itemโ€ and placed in a secure staff bathroom on Wednesday. A review of the camera by detectives revealed โ€œa large quantityโ€ of videos that constituted the crime of voyeurism, police say.

One of the videos on the camera identified Blohm as the perpetrator, and he was arrested at his residence Friday afternoon.

โ€œIt should be noted that the preliminary review of the video evidence appears to show the unlawful conduct was isolated to a secured staff only bathroom inside UVMMC, which is not accessible to the general public,โ€ the CUSI press release states. โ€œHowever, further examination and investigative review is forthcoming.โ€

Blohm faces a prison sentence of up to two years and a $1,000 fine, and was released pending a May 28 arraignment.
