Gov. Phil Scott on Friday said that he is not at this time considering a shelter-in-place order to respond to the growing COVID-19 outbreak in Vermont. The governor also gave a roundup of the measures the state has taken to contain the outbreak and provide relief. See VTDigger’s story

The COVID-19 outbreak at Burlington Health & Rehab has intensified with four new patients testing positive, with the state’s total confirmed cases at 29, with two deaths. See VTDigger’s story

Senate lawmakers are working over the weekend to come up with a plan to extend unemployment benefits for those affected by COVID-19. However, the acting labor commissioner warned that the state’s $500 million fund is”‘not an endless pot of money.” Read VTDigger’s story

The Senate plans to reconvene on Tuesday to take action on a number of COVID-19 emergency response measures, including legislation to expand unemployment benefits and aid health care providers. Leadership is hoping that at-risk lawmakers will stay home. Read VTDigger’s story

The first health care provider in Vermont to test positive for COVID-19 works at Central Vermont Medical Center. The provider has been in self-isolation since experiencing symptoms, but previously interacted with patients and staff. Read VTDigger’s story
