In 24 hours, Sanders raises $6 million
He’s running: Bernie Sanders is back in the presidential race for 2020. He announced his bid for the Democratic nomination in a video Tuesday, pledging to kickstart a grassroots movement of 1 million supporters. After the first 12 hours, he got a third of the way towards that goal and raised more than $4 million dollars.
Donovan sidesteps lawsuit against Trump over emergency declaration
Sixteen states have filed suit against the Trump administration for declaring a state of emergency to secure funding for a border wall. But Vermont isn’t one of them — yet. State Attorney General TJ Donovan said his office hasn’t determined whether the state would lose funding under the change, and said Vermont will only join the suit if it would.
Sexual harassment fallout in a small town
In the latest twist in a saga involving the Stowe tech firm Inntopia, the political strategist Stuart Stevens has appealed a stalking order against him to the Vermont Supreme Court. He says that lawsuit is retaliation for the publicity around his girlfriend’s sexual assault allegations against Inntopia’s former COO, whose wife filed the suit.
