Vermont Law School revokes tenure for 75 percent of faculty
Vermont Law School revoked tenure for 75% of their faculty members on July 1st. Tenured faculty were also required to sign a non-disclosure and non-disparagement agreement in order to keep their jobs. The school is restructuring after facing an ongoing budget deficit. But some professors are concerned that the tenure cuts will damage the school’s reputation.
UPDATED: State finds ‘no criminal misconduct’ in Retreat billing
The state attorney general’s office has found no criminal misconduct at the Brattleboro Retreat after conducting a three-year investigation into the facility’s billing practices. A former employee alleged that the Retreat mishandled millions of dollars and committed Medicaid fraud. The AG’s office is now working with the facility to promote financial best practices.
Half of Vermont towns will see increased property tax rates
