[B]y percentage of the vote, the biggest winners in the Vermont election on Tuesday were Jim Condos, the Vermont secretary of state, and U.S. Rep. Peter Welch. Both Democratic incumbents won 80 percent of the vote.

VTDigger’s data analysis of all statewide and federal candidates is based on unofficial results from the secretary of state’s website.

State Treasurer Beth Pearce, also a Democrat, is the next most popular Vermont politician. She garnered 74 percent of the vote.

Preliminary election results show that Vermonters remain a ticket-splitting electorate. Fifty-two percent of voters cast ballots for Republican Phil Scott and 56 percent voted for Democratic presidential nominee Hilary Clinton.
