The House approved a bill adjusting the current year’s budget on a voice vote Tuesday.

The annual legislation trues up the budget for fiscal year 2016 to reflect pressures from the first half of the year. This year’s bill increases the total expenditures by $91.8 million.

The House tweaked the version of the bill that passed the Senate earlier this month.

The Senate version stated that any excess revenue at the end of fiscal year 2016 will go to pay for the state’s $10.3 million share of the so-called 53rd week of the state Medicaid program.

The House version of the bill clarifies that any additional money left over beyond the $10.3 million would be divided according to a statute that dictates that portions of leftover revenue go to the education fund, the general fund and a fund for retired teachers’ health care.

Before the bill goes to the governor’s desk, it will need final approval from the Senate.
