A 58-year-old Massachusetts man died Monday in a ski accident at Burke Mountain, according to the Vermont State Police.
Shirinian Varter of Watertown was skiing on the Big Dipper Trail at about 3:40 p.m. when he lost control, traveled into the woods and collided with a tree, police said in a press release.
Shirinian was pronounced dead at the scene of injuries from the collision. He was not wearing a helmet, police said.
Autopsy results are pending.
