VTDigger.org is a nonprofit news organization, and we depend on your financial support.
Unlike many other newspapers, we’re free to our subscribers and we rely on readers to support our work through contributions.
We know you’ve counted on VTDigger.org for coverage of the election and the transition, for in-depth stories that otherwise might not come to light, and for a preview of upcoming legislative initiatives.
We count on you to support the digging.
We’ve already begun covering what may well be an historic legislative session. Lawmakers and the new governor will decide the direction of the state for years to come, grappling with Vermont’s $112 million budget gap, unresolved issues with the Challenges for Change restructuring effort, proposed alterations to the tax code, health care reform, and changes to the public records law.
As the year comes to an end, VTDigger.org has reason to celebrate. Our readership has increased from 1,500 unique readers a month last January to 19,500 a month this December.
We hope you’ll consider becoming a sustaining member of VTDigger.org by donating $50, $75 or $100. Your gift is deductible.
