Tiny Northeast Kingdom town missing nearly $1 million

Coventry, which is missing $870,000 in taxes, has placed an insurance claim with the Vermont League of Cities and Towns. That figure doesn’t include other fees the town clerk is required to collect. Up to $1.4 million could be unaccounted for.
