Nick Monsarrat of Charlotte is a contributing editor and adviser for VTDigger.org. He has been a resident of Vermont since 1968 and a reporter, editorial page editor and managing editor for Vermont daily newspapers since 1969, including The Times Argus, Rutland Herald and Burlington Free Press. As president of the New England Society of Newspaper in 1982, he co-chaired the first of a series of U.S.-Soviet newspaper editors exchanges, and has served as a board member for the New England Press Association. From 1988-2008, he was an adjunct professor of journalism at St. Michael’s College in Colchester, teaching mass communications and introductory and advanced newswriting. He is a 1963 graduate of Washington & Lee University’s School of Journalism.
