The Vermont Emergency Management reports that a number of Vermont rivers have spilled over their banks, flooding roads and basements throughout the state.
The National Weather Service has placed most counties under a flood warning. The NWS says Lake Champlain is expected to reach flood stage on Thursday.
A number of roads are closed because of high water. More are expected to close as rivers crest. Go to http://511vt.com for a list of state road closures.
Roads could be icy in spots. VEM warns drivers to respect all detours and never drive across a flooded road.
