Young Writers Project is a creative, online community of teen writers and visual artists that started in Burlington in 2006. Each week, VTDigger publishes the writing and art of young Vermonters who post their work on youngwritersproject.org, a free, interactive website for youth, ages 13-19. Cards and Songs

We all gather on the couches and cushions
Rating baby names
And talking about our future homes and husbands
We look at the most expensive houses in the country and laugh about the smallest things
We sing karaoke and talk late into the night
We eat truffles and pasta
We jump and yell
Running from the rain and wind, chasing rainbows
We play card games for hours
Exchanging both playful and threatening glances
We all crowd around the dinner table
Too many chairs squeezed into the space
Trying to soak up every moment
In this place of cards and songs
