An altercation in a St. Johnsbury home Sunday morning left one man dead and several people injured, according to the Vermont State Police.
In a press release issued Sunday morning, state police described the event as “isolated” and said they believe those involved knew each other and “are accounted for.”
The injured individuals were hospitalized and their conditions are “currently unknown,” the release stated. The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy of the deceased man to determine the cause and manner of death.
Police will release the names of those involved “following further investigation and notification of relatives,” according to the release.
The Vermont State Police is leading the investigation, with assistance from the St. Johnsbury Police Department.
