Police are investigating a suspicious death they say occurred in Bridport. 

Stephen Nuciolo Sr., 44, of Bridport, was found dead shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday at his Swinton Road home, according to a press release issued late Thursday by Vermont State Police. 

Troopers discovered the body after police received a report that he had died at his residence overnight. The body was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington, where an autopsy was performed on Thursday. The medical examiner concluded that his death appeared suspicious, according to the release. 

Based on their preliminary investigation, state police said that the death was an isolated event, and there is no known threat to the community.
