Services will be held on January 20, 2024 at 11am at Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Morrisville (phone number 802-888-3318). Shirley was born on November 27, 1941 in Wolcott, VT, the daughter of Loren and Elsa Wells. She grew up in the area where she later married, raised her three children and worked for 30 plus years at Lamoille Home Health and Hospice. She then retired to care for her father. Shirley then returned to the work force, working for Copley Woodlands, and later as a private care giver as she loved to be busy working and caring for others.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished spending time with family and caring for anyone in need. She enjoyed the outdoors, going for walks/hikes, working in her flower garden, reading, exploring the countryside and learning new things.

Shirley is survived by her three children Cathy Fitzgerald of Morrisville, Chuck Fitzgerald and his wife Aliza, of Eden, and Lisa Barrett and her husband Derrick of Morrisville, and her grandchildren Elizabeth Immich, Michael Immich, Sarah, Robert Fitzgerald, Rayghen Lanpher and her husband Dakota, Makayla Hill, Dylan Hill, Wyatt Hill, Justin Barrett, Jamie Barrett, multiple great grandchildren, and her sisters Becky Valley, and Sandy Norton as well as many beloved nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by her husband Almeron Fitzgerald, her mother Elsa (Goss) Wells, her father Loren Wells, brother Buzzy Wells, sister Rita Robinson, and grandson Christopher Fitzgerald.
