I was surprised to see Frances Mize describe me as a “contributor” to the Federalist Society, which she identifies as a “conservative” organization; her article might easily be read to imply inaccurately that I support the Society’s agenda. The Society website states that a “contributor” includes anyone who has ever spoken at the organization’s conferences, which I have done several times. I regularly welcome invitations to debate those whose views differ from mine, which includes most Federalist Society members. The Society’s use of the ambiguous term “contributor” on its website is designed to mislead people into believing the Society has broader public support than it has. Ms. Mize appears to have fallen into this trap for the unwary.
