Diana Marie Peirce (Richards), aged 74, of Vista, California, passed away on the 9th of November, 2023. Diana was born on the 23rd of May, 1949, in Burlington, Vermont. She was a woman who exemplified care, compassion, and selflessness throughout her life. Diana dedicated herself to the field of Hospice & Palliative Care, where she made significant contributions and was considered a pioneer.

Left to cherish Diana’s memory are her beloved husband, Timothy Peirce, and their children: Kira Peirce & her partner Michael Rollins, Scott Peirce, and Robyn Peirce & her partner Lloyd Archer. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Emily Peirce Weidman and Joshua Peirce. Diana was preceded in death by her grandfather, Harry Richards; grandmother, Nina Richards; father, Robert Richards; mother, Valada Richards; and nephew, Donald Richards JR.

Diana received her education from Milton Elementary School, Milton High School, and the prestigious Mary Fletcher School of Nursing. She embarked on a remarkable career journey, serving as a Managing Nurse at MacFarland House, a Dialysis Nurse/Visiting Nurse at CVHHH, a Palliative Care & Hospice Nurse at CVHHH, an Admissions Manager at The Elizabeth Hospice, a Director of Palliative Care at Uni Care Home Health, and a Patient Care Manager at Hospice of the North Coast.

Throughout her life, Diana found solace and a sense of belonging at The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Barre, VT. Her church community was an important part of her journey, providing her with guidance, support, and strength.

Diana had a deep passion for gardening, cooking, baking, and entertaining her loved ones. She was known for her warm hospitality and her knowledge and appreciation of wine. Additionally, Diana had a cherished collection of angel figurines that reflected her gentle and loving spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Diana on the 9th of November, 2024, in California. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and close friends to come together and pay their respects, honoring her memory and the impact she made on their lives.
