A Thetford man died in an apparent drowning Sunday night when the small boat he was in overturned on Levi Pond in Groton, according to a Vermont State Police press release.
Police said they located the body of Kristophere Perkins, 32, in the pond early Monday morning.
Perkins and two other people, Tim Perkins, 57, and a juvenile, were in the boat when it overturned, police said. Tim Perkins and the juvenile were able to make it to shore but Kristophere Perkins could not initially be found, according to police.
The body was taken to the state Chief Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The death does not appear to be suspicious, according to police.
