I read with interest Jeff Amestoy’s letter proposing a new flag for the state of Vermont that would feature “Vermont Strong” and its sales would contribute to flood recovery.

I am pleased with Vermont Public’s use of “Brave Little State” lifted from the words of President Calvin Coolidge. I suggest that all states could claim to be strong, but not many can claim to be little nor as brave as Vermont. For instance, being the first legislature to legalize same-gender marriage and to amend the state constitution to protect reproductive liberty.

Camel’s Hump might even be a good background symbol. It is visible from several counties.
