I am not surprised that Peter Schumann and the Bread and Puppet Theater cannot bring themselves to blame the obscene genocidal Russian attempt to destroy Ukraine as a nation and a culture on Putin and Russia. Of course, their approach is like talking about World War II without mentioning Hitler, the Nazi party, or Germany.
I spend most of my worries on the far right in America (50%+ of the GOP as of today) and the danger they represent to our democracy, while the far left of Peter Schumann is mostly an anachronism, obsolete. I wish I could say the far left is totally irrelevant, but they do actually accomplish something — that is, they provide far too much fodder and far too many opportunities for the propaganda of the right.
Putin’s war has accomplished the miracle of uniting American people, left and right, outside the fringes, not to mention people worldwide, in their determination to help Ukraine win. Ukraine must defeat Putin’s fascist Russia and its imperial ambitions or our future is going to be very expensive and bleak.
I am not going to hold my breath waiting for extremist influencers such as Tucker Carlson and Peter Schumann and their believers and followers to have a sensible response to Putin and his war. I am thankful that the vast majority of people understand the meaning of the Russian war on Ukraine and its culture and the importance of seeing it end in failure. Slava Ukraine.
