Dear Reader,
We all need a little help at some point. Whether itโs finding the answer to a question or putting food on the table, many of us have been on both the giving and receiving side of much-needed assistance.
This holiday season, you can give the help we all need by supporting VTDiggerโs trusted news. For every gift we receive, we will send 10 meals to the Vermont Foodbank. Will you help us inspire 1,000 members to send 10,000 meals by Thanksgiving Day?
The hunger crisis that was triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic is not over. Two in five Vermonters have faced food insecurity in the past year, more than in 2020 or 2021. With winter approaching, everyone is facing increased fuel prices due to rampant inflation. For many, this means having to choose between heating the home and buying groceries.
VTDigger brings people closer to important issues of our time by providing trusted information and investigations you canโt find anywhere else. The tips, questions and donations we receive from readers fuel our public service journalism. But we canโt do this work without your support.
We are proud to partner with the Vermont Foodbank for our annual membership drive. The Foodbank provides crucial aid and many recipients of their support are former or future donors themselves. This winter, that aid is more important than ever.
You can support local journalism and Vermonters facing hunger by joining VTDigger with a member gift. Will you support two worthy causes today?
Your contribution to VTDigger will send 10 meals to the Vermont Foodbank.
Thank you for your readership, but more importantly, thank you for caring about our state and the people who make their living here.
With gratitude,
Jim Welch
Interim Executive Director, VTDigger
