The hunger crisis that was triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic is not over. Two in five Vermonters have faced food insecurity in the past year, more than in 2020 or 2021. With winter approaching, everyone is facing increased fuel prices due to rampant inflation. For many, this means having to choose between heating the home and buying groceries.
VTDigger brings people closer to important issues of our time by providing trusted information and investigations you can’t find anywhere else. The tips, questions and donations we receive from readers fuel our public service journalism. But we can’t do this work without your support.
We are proud to partner with the Vermont Foodbank for our annual membership drive. The Foodbank provides crucial aid and many recipients of their support are former or future donors themselves. This winter, that aid is more important than ever.
