Former U.S. Attorney Christina Nolan, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, has hired GOP strategist Jake Monssen as her campaign manager. He will also serve as the main press liaison.

Monssen most recently worked on the campaign of Jennifer Strahan, who challenged U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Georgia, in the GOP primary. The race was called “a battle over the soul of the Republican Party” by Time Magazine, and Greene, who has become a national symbol of the GOP’s radicalization, won handily.

Monssen has also worked for Republican Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota and on campaigns in Mississippi and Kentucky.

“I am thrilled to have Jake on the team. His experience and demeanor are exactly what we need to take this to the next level and be victorious in August and November,” Nolan said in a statement.

The Nolan campaign had previously declined requests from VTDigger to provide a list of staff.
