On Friday morning, VTDigger reached our Spring Drive goal of 3,000 member contributions. The staff would like to express our gratitude to everyone that contributed to this critical fundraising effort. Our daily and investigative news continues thanks to your generosity.
We are thrilled our members stepped up to support both our local nonprofit news and young news readers of tomorrow.
Participating VTDigger members sent 3,000 brand-new books to Vermont children through our spring partnership with the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF). Oftentimes a book from CLiF is the very first children’s book that a child has received. We can’t thank our members enough for supporting this effort.
The CLiF books will be distributed at various sites throughout the state, including schools, community centers and libraries.
We would also like to thank a few generous donors for pledging matching funds and our friends at Gardener’s Supply Company and Foam Brewers for providing wonderful raffle prizes. The winners will be selected and contacted early next week.
VTDigger’s journalists are honored to continue providing public service journalism for Vermont, regardless of ability to pay. Our news is available to all because we don’t use a paywall or subscription model, but it still requires resources to produce. Member contributions make it all possible.
