Dear Reader,

I fought tooth and nail in 2012 to break the story of massive EB-5 fraud at Jay Peak Resort at a time when VTDigger was little more than a blog and no one took us seriously. Now, VTDigger employs talented journalists all over the state, publishing 8-10 daily and investigative stories every day. Our work makes a real difference.

Please help us continue to hold the powerful to account and serve the people of Vermont. We are just 545 members away from reaching our budget needs during our critical Spring Drive. Will you take a stand for local journalism today?

Last Friday, Ariel Quiros was finally held responsible for his actions. The former owner of Jay Peak was sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay $8 million in restitution.

There is always more work to be done to shine a light on injustice and spur accountability. But we can’t do it alone. VTDigger is a nonprofit organization with a lean budget and no paywall. We rely on readers to support our local journalism because it is a public service that truly benefits the greater good.

Help us stay on the beat and end our critical Spring Member Drive. We only need 545 people to step up with a gift to reach our goal. Will you become a member at the level that works for you today?

When you donate, the Children’s Literacy Foundation will send a brand-new book on your behalf to a Vermont kid. Our goal is to send 3,000 books from 3,000 members. Thank you for valuing VTDigger and the news readers of tomorrow.

Yours,

Anne Galloway

Editor & Executive Director, VTDigger
