Vermont reported 243 new Covid-19 cases, 57 hospitalizations and four more deaths Thursday.

The state’s seven-day average for new infections is 261, down from 284 on Wednesday, according to the Vermont Department of Health dashboard.

Vermont’s seven-day average test positivity rate was 5.9% Thursday, down from 6.3% on Wednesday. (The test positivity rate includes only PCR tests, not at-home antigen tests. Here’s more on antigen test data.)

The health department reported that 57 people were hospitalized with Covid as of Thursday, up from 52 on Wednesday. That includes 15 people in intensive care, the same number as on Wednesday.

The state reported four additional Covid deaths on Thursday, bringing February’s death total to 34. In total, 579 people have died from Covid in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic.
