The Vermont Principals’ Association on Tuesday reversed its decision to bar reporters and photographers from a state semifinal match between the Winooski High School and Enosburg Falls High School boys soccer teams.
Fans and other spectators still aren’t allowed.
In a brief statement, the association said its decision was made “in consultation with the host district,” which is the Winooski School District.
The game is set to kick off Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Burlington High School, a neutral field.
The principals’ association had said Monday it planned to bar both journalists and fans from the match in order to protect players’ physical and emotional safety.
Representatives from multiple Vermont media outlets, including VTDigger, contested the organization’s decision to limit media access.
A livestream of the game will be available online.
