Dear Reader,

This month we are thrilled to bring two events to our VTDigger news community that will enrich our understanding of how young Vermonters are navigating Covid-19 and what lies ahead. We can’t do these kinds of events and keep up with the daily news without member support, so if you haven’t already, please make a contribution to our spring member drive today.

This Thursday, April 15, at 5:30 p.m., we are bringing you another edition of our Covid FAQ Live series. This time, we will be speaking with on-the-ground panelists about the impact of Covid-19 on education and what recovery for schools should look like. RSVP and submit a question for this event.

The following week, VTDigger and the Children’s Literacy Foundation invite readers, especially those with young children in their lives, to join us for a unique Earth Day celebration with Caldecott award-winning Vermont author Jason Chin. During this midday event on Thursday, April 22, from 1 to 2 p.m., Jason will bring audience members behind the scenes of his beautiful and innovative picture books about natural ecosystems. Questions from young viewers are encouraged! RSVP here.

We hope readers value events like these that challenge and evolve our understanding of our communities and the world around us.

If you appreciate what we do, please support it during our spring membership drive today.

Through our partnership with the Children’s Literacy Foundation, we will send one book to a low-income Vermont child for every member donation we receive. Will you help us reach our goal of serving 3,000 kids?

As the world continues to grapple with the pandemic and its fallout, VTDigger strives to offer information and resources to improve the lives of Vermont residents.

Sincerely yours,

Libbie Pattison
