The Department of Health reported 82 new cases of the coronavirus and one new death on Tuesday. Total cases in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic now number 14,691, and total deaths are at 199. 

New cases were reported Tuesday in 12 of Vermont’s 14 counties:

  • Franklin: 18
  • Chittenden: 17
  • Addison: 10
  • Bennington: 8
  • Rutland: 8
  • Windham: 7
  • Lamoille: 6
  • Caledonia: 2
  • Orange: 2
  • Washington: 2
  • Orleans: 1
  • Windsor: 1

As of Tuesday, 36 people were hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19. Twelve of those people were in intensive care, and one more was hospitalized with a suspected case.

The state reported that 1,029,049 tests have been administered for the illness in Vermont since mid-March. As of Tuesday, 326,838 people had been tested. The seven-day average positivity rate was 1.5%.

Eligible Vermonters can register for vaccine appointments at healthvermont.gov/MyVaccine. People 70 and older are currently eligible; people 65 and older can register starting Monday, March 1, at 8:15 a.m.
