The Department of Health reported 80 new cases of the coronavirus and two new deaths on Saturday. Total cases in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic now number 5,626, and total deaths number 95.

New cases were reported Saturday in all 14 counties:

  • Chittenden: 28
  • Bennington: 11
  • Franklin: 9
  • Windsor: 8
  • Rutland: 6
  • Caledonia: 3
  • Lamoille: 3
  • Windham: 3
  • Addison: 2
  • Grand Isle: 2
  • Washington: 2
  • Essex: 1
  • Orange: 1
  • Orleans: 1

As of Saturday, 22 people were hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19, with two in intensive care. One person was hospitalized with a suspected case.

The state reported that 612,312  tests have been administered for the illness in Vermont since mid-March, a one-day increase of 3,800. As of Saturday, 241,700 people have been tested. The seven-day average positivity rate is 2.3%.
