President-elect Joe Biden declared in his acceptance speech that racial justice would be a key focus of his administration. What is the state of racial justice now and what should racial justice work focus on? How pervasive is white supremacy, and what should be done about armed groups such asย Slate Ridgeย in Vermont? To talk about this, we turn to Kiah Morris, whoย was a state representative from Bennington from 2014 to 2018. She was the second African-American woman elected to the Legislature in Vermont history. She resigned in 2018 followingย racist harassmentย from a self-avowed white nationalist in Bennington. Morris is nowย movement politics director in Vermont for the social justice advocacy organizationย Rights & Democracy.
