The Department of Health reported on its dashboard Saturday the 59th death from Covid-19 in Vermont, the first since July 28.
Bennett Truman, spokesperson for the Vermont Department of Health, said on Sunday that a 70-year-old female died. “Because of the cyberattack on the UVM Health Network, I don’t currently have information about whether she was hospitalized or if in ICU,” he wrote in an email.
The department also reported 21 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total cases confirmed in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic to 2,347.
New cases were reported in the following counties:
- Chittenden: 4
- Washington: 4
- Windsor: 3
- Caledonia: 3
- Addison: 1
- Bennington: 1
- Essex: 1
- Windham: 1
- Grand Isle: 1
- Lamoille: 1
- Orange: 1
As of Friday at noon, two people were hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19. Two more were hospitalized with suspected cases.
The state reported that 434,341 tests have been administered for the illness in Vermont since mid-March, an increase of 5,490 since Friday. Some 193,523 individuals have bee tested. (The health department recently started including the total number of tests on its dashboard.) The seven-day positivity rate has inched up to 0.7%.
