The Department of Health reported 24 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday, bringing the total cases confirmed in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic to 2,326.
New cases were reported in the following counties:
- Chittenden: 9
- Washington: 5
- Windsor: 3
- Orange: 3
- Caledonia: 1
- Addison: 1
- Orleans: 1
- Grand Isle: 1
As of Friday at noon, three people were hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19, with two in intensive care. One more was hospitalized with a suspected case. To date, 58 people have died with the illness, the last reported on July 28.
The state reported that 428,851 tests have been administered for the illness in Vermont since mid-March, with 192,728 people tested. (The health department recently started including the total number of tests on its dashboard.) The seven-day positivity rate is 0.6%.
