The Department of Health reported nine new cases of the coronavirus over the Labor Day holiday weekend, bringing the total cases confirmed in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,651.
One person in the state was reported to be in the hospital with a confirmed case of the virus, and one person reported is hospitalized with a suspected but not confirmed case. To date, 58 people have died with the illness. No new deaths were reported.
The state reported Monday that 145,993 people had been tested for the illness in Vermont since mid-March, an increase of 3,795 since Friday.
