VTDigger announced Thursday a new podcast collaboration with journalist David Goodman and WDEV/Radio Vermont to host The Vermont Conversation.
The Vermont Conversation with David Goodman, which began in January 2013, is an hour-long radio program and podcast featuring interviews with politicians, activists, artists, changemakers and ordinary citizens. Recent guests include author and activist Bill McKibben, undocumented Vermont farmworkers, a show on racial justice co-hosted by people of color in Vermont, epidemiologists from Harvard and Stanford, and Vermont school teachers and health care providers facing COVID-19, to name a few.
The public affairs radio show will be featured as a special biweekly podcast on the VTDigger website and will continue to air on WDEV on Wednesdays at 1 p.m.
Anne Galloway, editor of VTDigger, said the news organization is “thrilled to expand our podcast offerings through this collaboration.”
“David Goodman’s in-depth and thought provoking interviews with local and national guests have made The Vermont Conversation required listening for so many,” Galloway said. “We are also glad to be partnering on this with WDEV, an iconic Vermont independent media outlet.”
VTDigger will feature and promote podcasts of The Vermont Conversation on its website and social media, and publish occasional print versions of the interviews. VTDigger will also solicit questions from readers that Goodman will pose in upcoming interviews.

Goodman is a veteran journalist who has covered climate change in Africa, South African apartheid, national politics, and backcountry skiing (the Boston Globe dubbed him “the godfather of Northeastern backcountry skiing” for his series of guidebooks on the subject). He is the author of a dozen books, including four NY Times bestsellers that he co-authored with his sister, Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman.
