The Northfield-based Darn Tough Vermont has donated 10,000 pairs of its socks to hospitals around Vermont.

Ric Cabot, the company’s president and CEO, delivered some of the socks himself on Wednesday at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

“We’re honored to contribute what we uniquely can, and show our appreciation to some of the toughest Vermonters,” said Cabot. “We’re all in this together.”

The company’s popular socks retail for about $20 a pair, and come with a lifetime, unconditional guarantee. Marketing Director Brooke Kaplan said the donated socks were mostly from the company’s “lifestyle” line, with some hiking socks as well. She declined to give a dollar value for the donation.

Darn Tough in March finished moving into a new manufacturing location in Waterbury. The company has retained its headquarters and two manufacturing locations in Northfield.
