Dear Readers,

We have been heartened by the outpouring of support that VTDigger has received from readers in recent weeks while we have been working around the clock to report on COVID-19, the crisis of a generation.

Now we are teaming up with Vermont Glove to give back. We are asking Vermonters to stand with us and invest in public service journalism while directly supporting Vermont’s health care community.

Today VTDigger is announcing a campaign to donate 3,000 masks to area hospitals in 30 days in partnership with Vermont Glove, a family-owned business in Randolph, Vermont.

Vermont Glove has temporarily stopped glove production to sew fabric masks for health care workers during the coronavirus crisis. Vermont hospitals and the CDC have requested donations of fabric masks as extra protection.

VTDigger and Vermont Glove will donate one mask for every reader who becomes a VTDigger member at any level in the next 30 days.

The masks will be donated to area hospitals including Central Vermont Medical Center, Rutland Regional Medical Center, Southwestern Vermont Health Care, Gifford Medical Center, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, and Mt. Ascutney Hospital.

When you become a member of VTDigger by giving any amount, we will send a mask to a Vermont hospital in need.

We are all in this together as a community. Thank you in advance for helping to support this joint effort.

In gratitude,

Anne Galloway
