If you’re looking for the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, then the 2020 statewide final of the Scripps Spelling Bee is for you.

Contestants from Brattleboro to Island Pond and ranging in age from 8-15 will vie for the honor of representing Vermont in National Harbor, Maryland, near Washington, DC, for the national final, May 24-29.

Vermont’s Scripps Spelling Bee final will be held Tuesday, March 17 at St. Michael’s College, One Winooski Park, Colchester. 

Competition begins at 3:30 p.m. until the last word is spelled correctly. 

This event is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Vermont Principals’ Association, the Vermont Humanities Council, Milne Travel, the Vermont Student Assistance Corp and the Vermont Superintendents Association.
