A 53-year-old Bakersfield man was arrested Sunday after troopers said he intentionally crashed a vehicle into one driven by a family member.

Jeffrey Cota now faces a charge of attempted murder, according to the Vermont State Police.
The incident happened at around 2 p.m. on Sunday on Route 36 in Bakersfield, state police said.
Troopers responded to a report of a head-on collision, with the Bakersfield Volunteer Fire Department in tow to help with injuries, state police said.
Investigators found Cota responsible for the crash but did not reveal how they determined the manโs involvement. Troopers said Cota intentionally crashed his vehicle into an oncoming one operated by a member of his family.
Cota was being held Monday at Northwest Correctional Center on $100,000 bail.
Anyone who witnessed or has information about the incident is asked to contact troopers.
