The state can’t locate four months of emails from a former director of the Vermont EB-5 Regional Center. The Attorney General’s Office says James Candido’s emails from May to October 2010 are missing. VTDigger has been seeking those records as part of an eight-month legal dispute over documents related to the Jay Peak fraud.
CityPlace developer’s ‘non-update update’ vexes City Council
The developers of Burlington CityPlace went before the city council this week with no new information on the stalled downtown project. In July, Brookfield Asset Management had said that more information on a scaled-back redesign would be provided this month. Councilors were upset that Brookfield had no word on when construction would begin.
Police investigate harassment of migrant workers
The activist group Migrant Justice says people surrounded the homes of migrant farmworkers in Addison County this week, shouting insults and firing guns. After a Facebook post by the group went viral, state police now say they’re investigating multiple incidents in the area.
