[D]ear Reader,

Investigative reporting is part of our DNA here at VTDigger.

Back in 2014 we uncovered financial improprieties at Jay Peak Resort and we have stayed with the story since then, despite aggressive pushback from the developers and high-level state officials.

In March 2015, we wrote an expose that laid bare details of fraudulent activity at a proposed biomedical facility in Newport. Many of those facts were part of the indictment that came out this week in the criminal investigation of the Jay Peak developers.

Last week, four of the players who allegedly perpetrated the fraud at AnC Bio Vermont were charged with wire fraud, misrepresentations to federal agencies and money laundering. We will continue to follow the story wherever it leads.

Eighty percent of our work here at VTDigger is follow up. And we can only do that digging because of your support. Most of our funding comes from readers like you.

We hope you will help make our Spring Drive successful. We need to raise $44,300 in just 4 days.

We hope you’ll be one of the stalwart readers who gives back to the community by supporting VTDigger. Every donation counts.

Many thanks,

Anne Galloway
